GOSSIP

by Nick Furey on 07/16/15

Many would agree that BULLYING - By Undermining Lives Like Yours Instantly Negates Growth - is a wrong and harmful, as it devastates other's lives and ruins the potential for the BULLY too. What people don't realize is that GOSSIP is also an extreme version of BULLYING.  It completely undermines the person being talked about and causes the person who is talking about others to diminish - their integrity and spirit.

GOSSIP - Gouging Other's Sensitive Spirit Injures People

Remember, it Injures not only the recipient but also the one who delivers the GOSSIP.  But you say, "I am only telling the truth about the person, I am not telling lies."  I heard a speaker say, "Always speak the truth, but you don't have to always tell things even if they are the truth."

Every person has a Sensitive Spirit; there are certain things in a person's life that are "off-limits" for talking about.  You do not insult a depressed person about their mental condition by merely talking about them to other people with disregard.  It would be much more beneficial to understand their situation and help them rise out of their mire.  Consider being a friend instead of a fiend.  We all have two ears and one mouth, we should be listening twice as much as we speak.

Why do we GOSSIP?
1.  In life, our lives can feel miserable and by talking about someone else's life, seems like our life is less miserable.

2.  To gain attention.    It appears that when we GOSSIP about others we gain the approval and attention of others.  Yes, we get a laugh together, on someone else's expense.  Remember, if they are willing to laugh with you when you talk about others, they are probably more than willing to GOSSIP about you when you're not around.

Social media has made it soooo easy to air unnecessary details about ourselves and others.  This information stays on the internet for as long as there's the internet.  When you air your own dirty laundry on a social media, it gives others the ammunition to talk about you.  One site calls it a "Friends list", but are they really your friends?  Are they really your friends?  Many of us of hundreds of friends online, but very few in our everyday life.  Telling one friend can trigger 100 more people to GOSSIP about your issue, but having 100 or more social media friends can turn into 1000 people knowing your miserable situation. Make sure that one friend you tell is trustworthy and has your best interest.

Some say, "I am really concerned about Bob and Ella, their marriage seems like it's in trouble. I think we should be there for them."  Sounds good, somewhat.  It depends on your motive - is it to truly to help them or is it designed to get in on the GOSSIP circle?

By eliminating GOSSIP from your life, you enable yourself to rise up and stay clear of being injured too.

New RESPECT acronym Tshirt Campaign

by Nick Furey on 07/23/14

I am ecstatic to present the new RESPECT acronym Tshirt Campaign!  The shirt is available at http://www.teespring.com/RESPECTacronym.

The Campaign will help establish a better understanding of something that seems to be missing a lot in today's society -- RESPECT!  We might be able to bring true Peace and Character into Everyone's life Today, as we Regard them and all things around us.
Interesting story on how I came to Teespring to launch my campaign; I stumbled upon a tshirt with my family name - FUREY, and I loved it so much I had to have one!  The link said I could start my own campaign and viola', here it is!
With the proceeds, I plan to donate 15% to Muscular Dystrophy Assoc. and enable Amazing Acronyms to publish a book.
Thanks for your support!

PASSION

by Nick Furey on 06/13/14

As posted on Facebook June 13, 2014

If you ever had the opportunity to watch Food Show Network's Restaurant Impossible, you will notice that frequently Robert Irvine challenges the owner by exclaiming, "You have lost your PASSION! Either get it back or get out of the business
!" So many have great dreams and visions and yet come up short for the lack of PASSION.

Consider a crew of a large sailboat, anxious to take on the seas ahead. Things seem to be going well, and the crew becomes comfortable - that's because they haven't even left the harbor yet and faced the raging sea! If we look at the PASSION acronym again; it is Power and Spirit that Show Inspiration (to ourselves and others) Over the inevitable Negativity in life.

"Set your dreams high, and if you can't seem to reach them...get a stepladder, and with the PASSION you originally started with...get climbing again!

Welcome Everyone

by Nick Furey on 06/04/14

Welcome,

We are thrilled that you took time to view our website and blog.  We plan on posting new blogs regularly.  Life can be so challenging, and we need resources to strengthen us to be able to take on the challenge and thrive, not just survive.
Ever driven down the road and got a flat tire?  What three tools do you need to get back on the road again?   Think about it for a moment before scrolling down for the answer....

1. Spare Tire
2. Jack
3. Tire iron
(some people tell me that there is a fourth one... a cellphone to call someone else) but if you rely on others all the time, what happens when there is no cell coverage or no one is available?  For this illustration, we are eliminating the 4th one)

Did you know that car manufacturers place all these tools in all their cars?  They are hidden within the vehicle somewhere.  After much searching, or previous knowledge, you find these 3 tools; is the tire automatically changed?  No; even if you lay them next to the flat.  It actually takes the usage of these tools to accomplish the change. And once you do, you will have the satisfaction that you did it!
CHANGE - Consider How All New Guidance Enables
If you didn't know before that the tools were in your vehicle and now you do, that is New Guidance, and it Enables you to be a better you!
Problem is....
too many live with undo DOUBT - Depending On Understanding Before Trusting.

If you Depend On the Understanding that you don't know how to do something Before you Trust that with added knowledge and Understanding, you could do it.

Amazing Acronyms wants to provide you with these tools to get back on the road of life and cruise through it!

If I met you on the street or at an event,
I would love to hear from you! Tell me how these Acronyms are changing your life!
